Determined to make life easier for the people, Benue State Government is to partner with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) to provide affordable houses for Benue citizens.
Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, stated this when a team from the Federal Housing Authority, led by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Hon Oyetunde Ojo, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Makurdi.
The Governor who accepted the offer from FHA, assured the team that his administration would collaborate with the authority to provide affordable houses for Benue people, pointing out that their proposal is in line with his government’s desire to create a new Benue where everyone would be proud of.
Gov Alia, highlighted some his achievements since he assumed duty to include; ongoing construction work of the Underpass at the High Level roundabout, Makurdi and the one in Gboko, construction of roads in Makurdi and other towns in the state, purchase of one hundred buses to ease transportation challenge, the installation of solar powered street lights among others.
He lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for accepting to construct an overhead bridge at the Wurukum roundabout, as well as several other interventions from the Federal Government.
Earlier in his remarks, the team leader from FHA, Hon Oyetunde Ojo, explained that they were in the state as part of the new policy of the authority to consult with all state governors for end user initiatives in providing affordable houses for citizens of Nigeria.
