JUST IN: Again, Dangote slashes diesel, aviation fuel prices to N940, N980

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has once again lowered the prices of diesel and aviation fuel, setting them at N940 and N980 per litre, respectively, effective Tuesday.

This latest price adjustment follows the refinery’s recent reduction to N1,000 per litre, which garnered widespread acclaim just two weeks ago.

The new pricing structure offers diesel at N940 per litre for customers purchasing five million litres and above, while those buying one million litres and above will access it at N970 per litre.

Addressing the development, Head of Communication, Mr. Anthony Chiejina, emphasized the refinery’s commitment to alleviating economic hardships in Nigeria through affordable fuel prices.

Chiejina highlighted a strategic partnership between Dangote Petroleum Refinery and MRS Oil and Gas stations, ensuring accessible fuel rates across their outlets nationwide. Customers can now purchase diesel at N1,050 per litre and aviation fuel at N980 per litre at major airports where MRS operates.

He noted plans to extend this partnership to other major oil marketers, aiming to prevent retail buyers from facing inflated prices.

The move underscores Dangote Group’s dedication to improving the welfare of Nigerians amidst economic challenges, with a series of price reductions in recent weeks. Previously, the refinery had slashed diesel prices from N1,700 to N1,200 per litre before further reducing it to N1,000.

President Bola Tinubu had lauded Dangote for the initial price cut, hailing it as a commendable achievement.

In response, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Director General, Mr. Ajayi Kadiri, praised Dangote’s actions, highlighting their positive impact on the national economy. Kadiri emphasized the potential for reduced energy costs to benefit critical sectors such as industry, transportation, logistics, and agriculture, ultimately contributing to lower inflation rates and increased operational efficiency.
