JUST-IN: JAMB Releases Additional 531 Out Of 64,000 Withheld UTME Results

In a recent development, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released an additional 531 results of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), bringing the total number of released results to 1,842,897.

Continuing with its commitment to address the issue of withheld results, the Board has proceeded with the screening of over 64,000 previously withheld results. During this process, an additional 11 cases of examination misconduct were identified, bringing the total tally to 92 cases, up from the initial 81.

In a press statement issued by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, the Board stated that it is also investigating cases of unverified candidates and will provide updates on the matter soon.

The Board also addressed false publications claiming that an unknown candidate obtained scores in the 2024 UTME without sitting for the exam. Describing these reports as fake and malicious, JAMB urged the public to disregard such misinformation.

Highlighting the seriousness of the issue, the Board emphasized that its examination template is designed with utmost integrity and is not a platform for allocating scores to candidates. It expressed concern over the spread of such false narratives during a time when mischief makers attempt to deceive candidates.

Furthermore, JAMB revealed that some mischief makers have been copying results sent to other candidates, editing the details, and presenting them as authentic results from the Board. In response, the Board urged anyone with information about such claims to come forward with details and phone numbers associated with the alleged results.

To strengthen result verification processes, JAMB announced plans to enhance the UTME result checking process by adding more features such as registration numbers. Candidates were advised to keep their details secure, as associating with mischievous elements could lead to consequences.

As of now, the method of checking the 2024 UTME results remains sending ‘UTMERESULT’ to 55019 or 66019, and the results are not available on the Board’s website.
