Mikang Council boss Kungmi orders contractors back to site

Transition Committee Chairman of Mikang Local Government Council of Plateau state Hon Daniel Kungmi, at the weekend ordered contractors handling projects awarded by the immediate past administration in the local government council two weeks to complete the job or face the wrath of the law.

Kungmi gave the warning shortly after inspecting the projects across the local government council.

Addressing newsmen shortly after inspecting the projects Kungmi in company of his Management team adviced the contractors to speed up work in order to meet up with the deadline .

Kungmi disclosed that government is a continuous process stressing that the contracts initiated by his predecessor will be completed by his administration.

” I am calling on any contractor awarded contract in our Local Government Council who is yet to complete his job to mobilize his men to the site before the expiration of the fourteen days notice “.

The chairman reiterated that the council will not accept any substandard work from any contractor.

Kungmi also explained that the move is not to witch-hunt or probe the immediate past administration of the council.

Our correspondent reports that the projects inspected by the council boss includes the Mwo Ywom palace, fencing of Garkawa market square, and the three kilometers road network all in Garkawa town.

Others projects also inspected are the Long Tehl palace,Long Koenorm and Long Piapung palaces.

Responding the representatives of the Bitaco Global Resource Nigeria limited Jos Yusuf Abubakar assured the chairman he will abide by the directive given to him to complete the work as scheduled.

The Project Engineer handling the three point five kilometers road network in Garkawa Dung Benjamin Gyang also told the chairman that they have completed their work and what chairman was complaining about was not part of the contract agreement.
