President Bola Tinubu has appointed Shehu Mohammed as the new Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
Mohammed, previously an Assistant Corps Marshal, succeeds Dauda Biu, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The statement confirmed that Mohammed’s appointment is effective from May 20, 2024, for an initial term of four years.
The statement read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Assistant Corps Marshal Mohammed Shehu as the Corps Marshal/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission. The appointment is for an initial period of four years with effect from May 20, 2024, according to the relevant provisions of the Act establishing the Commission.”
President Tinubu has urged Mohammed to leverage his extensive experience in his new role.
