Police Commissioner assures Delta residents of hitch-free LG Council polls

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi has assured all residents and electorates that the Command would ensure that the Local Government Council election was conducted peacefully and hitch-free.

CP Abaniwonda gave the assurance on Friday when he led the DCP Operations, the squadron commander 31PMF and DPOs across the twenty-five Local Government Areas to the CBN office, Asaba for the inspection of Local Government election materials and safe escorts of both sensitive and non-sensitive materials to the various Local Governments Areas.

Police Commissioner equally, directed that the DPO’s must personally lead all materials safely to the various destinations.

He further reiterated the restriction of movement from 8 PM to 3 PM on election day while noting that NABTEB examination students and people on essential duties will not be affected by the restriction order.

The CP urged the electorates to be law-abiding and peaceful during the exercise.
