The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the minimum scores required for admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and Colleges of Education following the 2024 Policy Meeting in Abuja. According to JAMB Registrar Professor Ishaq Oloyede, universities have a minimum score of 140, while polytechnics and Colleges of Education require a minimum of 100. Institutions retain the autonomy to set their own minimum scores but cannot admit students scoring below these benchmarks. Additionally, a N2,000 fee for the Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) was announced. Professor Oloyede emphasized the use of the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) for admissions, warning of sanctions for institutions breaching admission guidelines.
