Sokoto State Government Says It Will Sustain Town Hall Meetings On Annual Budget

State Deputy Governor Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir Announced That While Declaring Open A 2 Day Joint Strategic Policy Dialogue On Social Budgeting For Child -sensitive In Nigeria Held At Dankani Guest Palace,sokoto.

Alhaji Idris Gobir Said This Was Aimed At Ensuring That Peoples’ Views Are Considered In Budget Formulation.

The Deputy Governor Said Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto Has Presided Over A Town Hall Meeting For The 2024 Budget. He Further Said The State Budget Was A Reflection Of The Views Of The Masses Of The State.

” Government Has Resuscitated And Reviewed Upward The Monthly Cash Allowances To The Disabled Persons.

“The Beneficiaries Numbering 6,679 Were Receiving 10,000 Monthly Cash Transfer To Meet Their Basic Needs”He Averred.

Gobir Then Expressed Appreciation To The Unicef For Complementing Government Effort And Solicited Continuous Support Towards Improving The State Planning A D Budgeting As Well As Reviewing The State Development Plan To Ensure That It Align With The 9 Points Agenda Of The Government.

Earlier In A Welcome Address, The State Commissioner Of Budget And Economic Planning Alhaji Balarabe Musa Kadadi Commended Unicef For Its Financial And Technical Support To The Government.

Kadadi Said Three Key Child Sensitive That Includes Health, Education And Social Protection Need More Attention And Commitment From Governments.

The Commissioner Assured Of The State Government Full Support And Cooperation To Development Partners In The State.

The Occasion Was Attended By Some Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries And Directors From Sokoto, Kebbi And Zamfara States.
