In a press briefing held in Abuja on Thursday, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, expressed concerns that the protest might be hijacked by malicious elements. He emphasized that the intent behind the demonstration appears to be to replicate the situation in Kenya, which has been marked by violence and remains unresolved.

“The aim of the protest is to show you what is happening in Kenya. And I would add that what is happening in Kenya in terms of the protest, one, is violence. Two, it remains unresolved as we speak now,” Maj. Gen. Buba stated.

The military’s warning underscores the potential risks associated with the protest and highlights the need for vigilance to prevent any escalation into violence.
