Nigerians Urged to Appreciate Presidential Efforts Amid Planned Protests

The National Chairman of the Nigeria Young Parliamentarian Organization, Hon Kassim Muhammad, has called on Nigerians to show gratitude to the President for his efforts in addressing national challenges.

In a statement sent to Daybreak Nigeria on Sunday, Muhammad noted that the objectives of the planned protest have been met, as the President has actively engaged with various stakeholders to find solutions.

“I urge our peace-loving Nigerian youths to engage in dialogue and respect our leaders,” Muhammad said. He cautioned against supporting “faceless protest planning committees” that might not stand by the protesters when situations escalate.

According to him, while protesting is a right when things go wrong, it is equally important to step down anger when authorities show willingness to listen and make amends.

Muhammad expressed concern over protests being hijacked and turning violent, leading to the destruction of lives and property. “When the protest is hijacked and turns to the destruction of lives and property, we will be bringing ourselves backward instead of forward as we desire,” he warned.

To properly articulate their concerns, Muhammad revealed plans to organize a National Youth Meeting, similar to the one held in Abuja after the EndSARS protest. This meeting aims to gather youth perspectives and present them constructively to the government.
