Tinubu Delays FEC Meeting Amid Ongoing #EndBadGovernance Protests

By   Milcah   Tanimu

President Bola Tinubu has postponed this week’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting to an undisclosed date due to the continuing nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests.

It was reported that several ministers arrived at the Council Chamber at the scheduled time, but President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume were absent.

A minister confirmed the meeting’s rescheduling but did not provide details on the reason. “It is no longer holding today,” the minister said, noting that the council typically meets on Mondays when issues arise.

Presidency sources also confirmed the postponement, explaining that a memo about the rescheduling was sent out late Sunday night, causing some ministers to receive the notice too late. “The ministers were not even supposed to come here because the meeting has been postponed, but the notice came out very late,” the source added.

In place of the FEC meeting, President Tinubu is scheduled to convene a meeting with Service Chiefs at 2:00 pm to address the ongoing protests and other related issues.
