Gov Ododo Didn’t Attend PDP Meeting, Remains a Staunch Member of APC in Kogi

**By Noah Ocheni, Lokoja**

The Kogi State Government has refuted claims circulating in the media that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is considering leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC). The government described the report as reckless and unprofessional, stating that it felt obligated to correct the misinformation and provide the public with accurate details.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, the government dismissed the report as a fabrication by those still reeling from their legal failures and attempting to gain entry into the APC through underhanded means. According to Fanwo, these individuals are resorting to falsehood, propaganda, and misinformation in their desperation.

The statement clarified that the photograph being circulated was taken at the wedding of the daughter of the Taraba State Governor, His Excellency Agbu Kefas. The event was attended by dignitaries from across the country, including the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, and governors from various political parties. Governor Ododo was present at the occasion to honor the daughter of his colleague, just as other governors did.

The statement further emphasized that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo recently secured a victory at the Supreme Court, backed by his party. “It is absurd to suggest that the Governor would abandon the party that supported him throughout his campaign and the subsequent legal battles. Their web of lies is crumbling.”

“We assure the good people of Kogi State that their Governor remains a committed member of the All Progressives Congress and will continue to support the party’s success, not only in Kogi State but also on a national level,” the statement read.

“We urge the public to remain confident that Kogi remains firmly in support of the APC and its policies, especially the progress being made under the leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.”

The statement concluded with a reminder to the media about its responsibility to uphold the principles of journalism. “Journalists must avoid spreading falsehoods or unfounded rumors concocted by interested ‘sources.’ The media must continue to retain the public’s trust and confidence at all times.”
