Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko (Sarkin Yamman Sokoto) has expressed his condolences to the family of the late District Head of Gatawa in Sabon Birni Local Government, Alhaji Isah Muhammad Bawa, who was tragically assassinated by his abductors last week. He also extended his sympathy to the people of Sabon Birni Local Government and the entire state.
Speaking at his Gawon Nama residence in Sokoto shortly after returning from an official engagement in Abuja, Senator Wamakko lamented the unfortunate incident and emphasized that death is an inevitable part of life. “When the time comes for one to die, nobody can stop it; as such, the death of the late traditional ruler became inevitable,” he remarked.
The Senator highlighted that the late District Head had received positive testimonies from many people, which he believed was an indication of his good character and peaceful end. He condemned the attempts by certain elements to politicize the incident and create unrest, urging the community to remain united.
“Death is inevitable for everyone,” he reiterated, and he prayed to Allah Almighty to forgive the sins of the late District Head and reward him with Jannatul Firdausi.
A special prayer for the repose of the soul of the deceased was led by Mallam Bashir Gidan Kanawa.
