Calls for Iwuanyanwu’s Immortalisation Grow as Burial Plans Unfold

Prominent leaders, including Edwin Clark, Senator Ben Obi, and Mike Ozekhome, SAN, have urged the Federal Government to immortalize the late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, former President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, by naming a public institution after him. During a condolence visit to his family in Abuja, they praised his contributions to national unity and justice.

Clark, represented by Ambassador Godknows Igali, emphasized Iwuanyanwu’s role as a leader beyond the Igbo community, advocating for a united and just Nigeria. Ozekhome also suggested naming a significant institution in his honor. Iwuanyanwu’s burial is set for November 1, with tributes beginning in mid-October.
