Speaker Abbas Condemns Abduction of Workers and Patients in Kaduna

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., has strongly condemned the recent attack on a hospital and the abduction of workers and patients in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.

On Monday, bandits invaded the Primary Healthcare Centre at Layin Dan Auta village in Kuyello Ward, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area. The attackers abducted two nurses and several patients, with the exact number still to be confirmed.

Speaker Abbas has urged security agencies to prioritize the rescue of those kidnapped from the hospital and others held across the country. He expressed deep concern over the increasing audacity of bandits and kidnappers.

“The frequency of bandit attacks, particularly on vulnerable locations such as hospitals, is alarming,” Speaker Abbas stated. “Our security forces must act urgently to track down the abductors and secure the release of all kidnapped individuals. It is crucial that no Nigerian remains in captivity.”

The Speaker also called for ongoing and intensified efforts to eliminate kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism throughout Nigeria.
