Nigerian Army Kills 4 Terrorists, Rescues 20 Hostages in Niger and Kaduna

On September 17, 2024, the Nigerian Army carried out successful operations in Niger and Kaduna States, resulting in the death of four terrorists and the rescue of 20 kidnapped victims. The operations occurred in Alawa Forest, Niger State, and Hayin Nakwakina village, Kaduna State.

The Army’s action in Alawa Forest led to the death of two terrorists, who were intercepted based on credible intelligence. The troops also seized two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, and three motorcycles during the operation. In Hayin Nakwakina village, another ambush resulted in the killing of two more terrorists, with the recovery of two motorcycles, a mobile phone, and several machetes.

Additionally, the Nigerian Army responded to a distress call and rescued 20 hostages abducted by terrorists along the Kwaga-Polewire axis of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. The terrorists involved in the kidnapping were overwhelmed and fled, allowing the troops to successfully recover the hostages, who have since been reunited with their families.

The Nigerian Army commended the public for their ongoing support and cooperation, emphasizing their commitment to eradicating terrorism and securing the nation. The Army remains dedicated to fighting insurgency and ensuring the safety of Nigerian citizens.
