IK Ogbonna Urges Government to Address Fake Miracles in Churches

Must read

Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has expressed his concern over the growing trend of fake miracles in churches, calling on the Nigerian government and religious bodies to intervene.

His comments follow the viral trend surrounding testimonies from The Lord’s Chosen Church, which many have criticized as unrealistic and deceptive.

In a detailed message shared on his Instagram page, Ogbonna urged pastors to reconsider their actions and reminded Christians that genuine miracles are not born from deception.

“**Fake Miracles Are Mocking Christianity** 🙏,” Ogbonna wrote. “It’s heartbreaking to see pastors using fake miracles to deceive and exploit vulnerable people. These acts stain the true essence of Christianity, turning faith into a spectacle for selfish gain. The consequences? Broken trust, lost lives, and faith manipulated for profit.”

He called on religious leaders to reflect on their use of God’s name for falsehood and encouraged Christians to protect their faith from exploitation. He also cautioned against using social media to mock or trivialize Christianity, reminding followers that faith should not be reduced to a tool for likes or viral content.

Ogbonna concluded by urging the government and religious organizations like the Christian Association of Nigeria to take action: “Christianity is about truth, love, and humility—not fraud, manipulation, or mockery. Let’s stand together to protect the integrity of our faith.”

His post has since sparked discussions, with many supporting his call for accountability in religious practices.
