Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has expressed deep shock over the tragic tanker explosion that recently claimed over 105 lives in Majiya village, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, on Thursday, Zulum extended heartfelt condolences to Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, the victims’ families, and prayed for the souls of those who died.
“I am deeply pained by Tuesday’s tanker explosion, which killed nearly 107 people and injured over 50. On behalf of the government and people of Borno State, I extend our condolences to my brother, Governor Umar Namadi,” Zulum said.
He added, “I pray for the repose of the departed souls and ask Almighty Allah to grant their families strength during this difficult time. May those injured also recover swiftly.”
The explosion occurred around noon on Tuesday, when a tanker driver lost control of his vehicle near Khadija University in Majiya village.
