Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has been conferred with the “Most Media-Friendly Governor” award by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in recognition of the developmental projects he has executed, which have been broadcast live on NTA.
In a statement, Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Bawa, said the Director General of NTA, Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos, presented the award to Governor Aliyu during the 2024 NTA Cultural Display held at the NTA Sokoto Network premises.
Bawa noted that since the inception of his administration last year, Governor Aliyu has initiated numerous programs that NTA has aired live, showcasing them to a broader audience.
Represented by the Executive Director of Administration and Training, Muhammad Fathu, Mr. Dembos praised the support and patronage NTA enjoys from the Sokoto State government under Governor Aliyu’s leadership.
“The award is in appreciation of the support we at the NTA receive from the present administration,” Dembos said.
In his response, Governor Ahmed Aliyu expressed gratitude, viewing the award as a call to extend more democratic dividends to every part of the state. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to partnering with the media to highlight the people-focused projects it is implementing for the state’s residents.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Local Government, Ibrahim Dadi Adare, Governor Aliyu thanked the NTA for recognizing his administration’s efforts and called for the continuation of this productive relationship.
Additionally, the NTA management conferred the title of “GARKUWAN NTA” on the governor’s representative, Ibrahim Dadi Adare, in recognition of his contributions.
