Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for Saudi Arabia after representing President Bola Tinubu at the commissioning of a $315 million oil production and storage facility owned by Oriental Energy Limited (OERL).
At the airport, he was bid farewell by OERL’s executive chairman, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi; executive vice chairman, Engr. Goni M. Sheikh; and other dignitaries.
According to a statement by his spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President will perform the Lesser Hajj (*Umrah*) in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah from December 16 to 19, 2024. He is accompanied by Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum.
On December 20, Shettima will meet with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah to discuss co-financing for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II) and the coordination of IsDB projects in Nigeria. These efforts aim to bolster Nigeria’s agricultural and economic development.
