The North West Governors Forum has declared its full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies, emphasizing a united front in driving development across the region.
The announcement followed a strategic meeting at the Katsina Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, chaired by Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda. In attendance were Governors Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), and Umar Namadi (Jigawa).
Also present were key figures from the United Nations, including Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, UN Resident Coordinator Mohammed Malik Fall, and UN Consultant Maryam Uwais, underscoring the global interest in regional development efforts.
Dr. Radda highlighted the importance of collaboration with the UN and other development partners to tackle critical issues such as poverty, agricultural development, and youth unemployment. He affirmed the collective commitment of all North West governors to support President Tinubu’s economic initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable growth.
In a significant move to enhance regional coordination, the forum appointed Hajiya Maryam Musa Mohammed as Director-General, tasked with streamlining development efforts across the North West.
