Football Legend Ronaldinho Launches STAR10 Cryptocurrency Token

By Abigail Philip David

Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho Gaúcho has unveiled a new cryptocurrency token, STAR10, built on the Binance Smart Chain.

Taking to social media on Monday, the former footballer introduced STAR10 to his fans, describing it as more than just a token but a key part of his ongoing legacy.

“My one and only official token is here!
It’s time to celebrate greatness, passion, and create a legacy together that will never fade.
$STAR10 isn’t just a token—it’s the next chapter of my journey,” Ronaldinho announced.

Following its launch, STAR10 saw an immediate surge, spiking over 20% to a peak price of $0.2492 before settling at $0.23, marking a 13% gain since its release.

The token offers holders exclusive perks, including signed memorabilia and access to an AI-powered assistant. With a circulating supply of over 82 million tokens, STAR10 has already reached a market capitalization of nearly $20 million, with a fully diluted valuation of $241 million. According to CoinGecko, its trading volume has surpassed $26 million.

Controversy Surrounding Ronaldinho’s Crypto Ventures

Ronaldinho’s foray into cryptocurrency has sparked debate, particularly after he hinted at a return to the industry in June 2024, encouraging fans to embrace digital assets.

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has pointed out the footballer’s previous associations with questionable crypto projects, including World Cup Inu, Atari Chain, Lord Society NFT, and meme coins like WATER and Baby Doge, which he once promoted alongside Lionel Messi.

One of the most controversial incidents linked to Ronaldinho was the 18kRonaldinho project—a cryptocurrency scheme tied to a $61 million pyramid scam that falsely promised investors daily returns of 2%. The former footballer has denied any involvement, claiming his name and image were used without his authorization.
