A coalition of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youths from northern states has called on Abdul Sidi Bomi from Niger State to declare his candidacy for the position of PDP National Chairman ahead of the upcoming national convention.
The appeal followed an emergency meeting held in Kaduna, where the youths endorsed Bomi’s leadership potential and ability to unite and revitalize the party.
Speaking to journalists, Ahmed Abdullahi Sheikh, Secretary of PDP Youths for Integrity (PYI), expressed confidence in Bomi’s capacity to lead the party effectively.
“We are confident that if elected, Abdul Bomi will reposition the PDP and restore its foundational principles, making it a formidable force once again. His leadership will help secure more electoral victories, including in the 2027 presidential election,” Sheikh stated.
He further urged the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) to support and endorse Bomi’s candidacy during the convention.
Similarly, Comrade Shehu Usman, leader of the PDP Youths for Integrity, commended Bomi’s grassroots political experience and selfless service, emphasizing that his leadership would strengthen the party and reconcile aggrieved members who had defected.
“Abdul Sidi Bomi has proven to be a politician with integrity and vision. His emergence as National Chairman will bring unity and progress to the PDP. We urge all stakeholders to rally behind him,” Usman added.
The growing support for Abdul Sidi Bomi among the PDP youth faction signals increasing momentum for his potential bid, reflecting aspirations for a stronger, more united party ahead of future elections.
