There was widespread jubilation on Saturday in Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as Hon. Fidelis Joseph Bagudu, a House of Representatives aspirant for the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in the 2025 elections, empowered persons with disabilities with tricycles and sewing machines.
A total of 27 mobility tricycles and sewing machines were distributed to beneficiaries from across the 22 wards in the constituency. The event took place at Wusilli Hotel, Sabon Tasha.
Hon. Bagudu, who is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the empowerment initiative is aimed at supporting Governor Uba Sani’s administration, particularly its inclusive policies toward persons with special needs.
“This empowerment is to support the administration of Governor Uba Sani and show solidarity with people living with disabilities, many of whom are loyal party members,” he said.
“We want them to know the party is with them, that the Governor feels their pain, and we are joining him in celebrating two years of impactful governance.”
Hon. Bagudu, a native of Kajuru LGA, further emphasized the importance of community involvement in advancing the developmental agenda of the Governor.
“We are encouraging not just the beneficiaries, but also political appointees and the general public to rally behind Governor Sani’s developmental efforts. He is doing excellently well. If you go across the 22 wards, you’ll see projects everywhere—left, right, and center. We salute him for that,” he added.
According to him, 17 tricycles and 10 sewing machines were distributed to disabled party members from the constituency’s 22 wards.
“These individuals are members of our party who are physically challenged. We’re giving them support to enhance their independence and livelihood,” he said.
He reiterated that the program is part of an ongoing series of empowerment initiatives undertaken by his movement.
“This is not the first time we’re doing this. Previously, we supported ward women leaders and LG women leaders with grinding machines and deep freezers. It’s a continuous program. Another round is coming next week, with more planned in the weeks ahead.”
He also called on the beneficiaries to remain supportive of Governor Uba Sani and the APC.
“We urge them to support the government’s programs and the APC so that by 2027, it will be easier for the party to secure victory again,” he stated.
Also speaking, Marcus Yari, Chairman of the F.J. Bagudu Movement in Chikun LGA, praised Hon. Bagudu’s consistent commitment to grassroots development.
“Hon. Bagudu has been running these empowerment programs for a long time in support of Governor Uba Sani’s administration. His dedication to the welfare of the people is commendable,” Yari said.
