Bayelsa State’s men’s table tennis team unleashed a dominant 3-0 rout of Delta State to seize gold at the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival on May 26, 2025.
The team led by formidable Samuel Boboye, the squad dazzled with pinpoint precision and airtight teamwork to overwhelm their opponents in a one-sided final.
Olajide Omotayo set the tone, cruising to a 3-0 victory in the opening set. Taiwo Mati kept the momentum, securing a 3-1 win in the second.
The duo of Omotayo and Azeez Sholanke sealed the triumph with a flawless 3-0 doubles victory over Delta.
