President Tinubu To Visit Benue Wednesday Over Killings

…Calls For Harmony Among Citizens

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that he would adjust his commissioning programme in Abuja to visit Benue State on Wednesday over the recent and incessant killings of villagers by suspected Fulani gunmen.

Present Tinubu announced this on Monday when he commissioned The Greater Abuja Water Supply Network, Loops 1,2,5&6 in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

“I sympathize those who have lost their lives, I will adjust my program and go to see Benue people on Wednesday.”
“While I sympathize with the Benue people, I have spoken to the Governor, the leadership and people of Benue, to accept our condolences and try hard, very very consciously to maintain peace and harmony among themselves”, he said.

The president urged the people of Benue to maintain peace and harmony among themselves, adding that such would bring prosperity to the nation.

President Tinubu preached, “I have always said this, that we are one single huge family living in the same house, staying in different rooms, but living together in harmony, will be the result of our diversity for prosperity.”
“We should be able to manage our anger and frustration,” he emphasized.
However, at least 200 people have reportedly died in very recent attacks across various communities.
President Bola had ordered security agencies to end the spate of killings in the Benue communities.
