Kaduna Govt, SMEDAN Seal N1 Billion Partnership to Support MSMEs

The Kaduna State Government has signed a ₦1 billion agreement with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to accelerate the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the state.

Governor Uba Sani announced the initiative in a statement released on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is structured under a Matching Fund Programme, with both Kaduna State and SMEDAN contributing ₦500 million each.

The fund will be overseen by the Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA), which will be responsible for disbursing affordable financing to entrepreneurs and small business owners across the state.

“Today, I had the honour of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Kaduna State Government and SMEDAN. I signed on behalf of the Kaduna State Government, while the Director General, Mr. Charles Odii, signed on behalf of SMEDAN,” Governor Sani stated.

The collaboration aims to improve access to credit, drive business expansion, and stimulate job creation within Kaduna’s MSME sector.
