President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned the newly constructed interchange bridge of the Arterial Road N20 (Wole Soyinka Way) over the Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Mohammed Expressway) in Abuja.
President Tinubu, while commissioning the interchange road on Wednesday, the 10th day of projects commissioning to mark his second anniversary in office, praised the FCT Minister Barr. Nysome Wike’s visionary foresight behind the creative masterpiece, as he described the road as a magnificent piece of engineering.
The president who was represented by the Senate, Senator Godwill Akpabio said, “This interchange is a magnificent piece of engineering, is indeed, a testament to our unwavering commitment to progress, a beacon of our collective aspiration for a more connected and prosperous FCT.”
He noted that the interchange road, would reduce the challenge of urbanisation such as traffic congestion, enhance safety, for th significantly improve the daily lives of residents and commuters in Abuja.
“While our rapid urbanisation, is a sign of growth, it has also presented challenges, particularly in ensuring smooth and efficient movement of people and goods.”
” This interchange is a crucial answer to those challenges.I commend the Federal Capital Territory Administration under the dynamic leadership of the Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, for their vision, dedication, and tireless efforts in bringing this project to fruition. Their commitment to transforming Abuja into a world-class capital is evident in projects of this magnitude”.
Furthermore, the President stated that the commissioning of the bridge was a promise fulfilled, adding that it is a glimpse into the future we are collectively building a future where infrastructure serves as a catalyst for economic growth, where connectivity fosters unity, and where every Nigerian can access opportunities without hindrance. It stands as a symbol of what we can achieve when we work together with purpose and determination”.
The FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, thanked Mr. President for his support and dedication to the transformation of the Capital City , and for his presence in the 10 out of the 17 days of the projects commissioning in Abuja to mark the second anniversary of the President .
“The last ten days have demonstrated, beyond doubt, that President Tinubu is a leader of action.”
“His vision is being translated into visible, tangible projects that are directly impacting the lives of our people”, the minister said.
According to him, the successful execution of these projects was a result of close supervision and accountability.
“We monitored these projects day and night to ensure quality, speed, and transparency. That’s the kind of leadership Mr. President has inspired in all of us”, he said.
“President Tinubu has shown that with the right leadership, results will follow. What you are seeing today across the FCT; roads, bridges, schools, hospital, are products of vision, courage, and capacity”, he stressed.
Wike reiterated the FCT Administration’s commitment to continue to work in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, by ensuring all project meets with the needs of the people and other developmental goals of the Federal Government.
“We are not just building infrastructure, we are restoring trust in governance and delivering on the promise of a better capital city”, the minister added.
