Expansion of Health Facilities Tops Tinubu’s Healthcare Agenda

The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako has restated that the expansion of healthcare and creation of more Federal Tertiary Hospital across the country tops President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s priority and unwavering commitment to provide quality healthcare under it’s the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Dr. Salako disclosed this when recieved HRM, Engineer Michael Ogheneove Orugbo, Okporua I, Ovie of Udu kingdom from Delta state who paid a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.

The Minister noted that President Tinubu’s government has the highest number of Federal Tertiary Health Institutions within short period compare to the previous past administrations.

Dr. Salako expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as first of its kind extended to the Ministry by community leaders who benefit from the establishment of such institutions in their domain.

He stated that Oviam Federal Medical Center was established by the approval of Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, also commending the Delta State governor for cooperating with the health ministry for such favourable resulth.

The minister described the visit as significant, stating that it was the first time community leaders directly benefiting from such federal health interventions had visited the ministry to express appreciation.

Dr. Salako further disclosed that the Oviam Federal Medical Centre was approved by President Tinubu and commended the Delta State Government for its collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health in ensuring the project’s success.

He added that the facility would soon commence operations under a five-year development plan.

He explained that the Oviam Federal Medical Centre will soon start operations under a five- year working budget plan.

Furthermore, the health minister, appreciated the paramount ruler for his personal donation of drugs worth millions of naira to the facility, the land donation by the community, and digital items donated by Oyeye Foundation.

He disclosed that government has also provided commodities of millions of Naira, to the community facility, charing them to take ownership of the fa ility.

Earlier , Ovie of Udu kingdom, His Royal Merjesty, Engineer Michael Ogheneove Orugbo, Okporua I stated that his visit was appreciate the government’s guesture in siting the medical centre in his community.
