The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jos South Local Government Area convened a joint meeting of its Local Government Executive Committee and Ward Chairmen on Monday, July 8, 2025, to address recent developments within the party and chart a unified course forward.
The meeting was presided over by the Secretary of the LGA Executive Committee in the absence of the Deputy Chairman, who was unavoidably absent due to ill health. The Secretary expressed deep appreciation to all Ward Chairmen in attendance, describing their presence as a sign of shared purpose and unity within the party’s structure.
In a statement signed by Chuwang Christopher Tadi on behalf of the Jos South Executive Committee, it was disclosed that the meeting centered on a detailed briefing regarding the controversial lifting of the suspension imposed on Hon. Pam Mwanvwang Dalyop by the State Working Committee. The Secretary outlined the steps taken by the Jos South Executive Committee, including its formal rejection of the decision, which was made public in a statement released on July 5, 2025.
The Ward Chairmen unanimously commended the Executive Committee for its consistent and principled stance on the issue. They expressed full support for all actions taken so far, describing them as a defense of the party’s internal democracy and moral integrity. They stressed the importance of handling disciplinary matters with transparency and in the collective interest of the party’s local structure.
Most notably, the Ward Chairmen resolved to stand with the Executive Committee in all future efforts to promote party unity and uphold discipline. They emphasized that cohesion and order at the grassroots level are essential for the APC’s continued strength in Jos South and beyond.
The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of solidarity, as both the Ward Chairmen and the LGA Executive Committee pledged to continue working together to uphold the values of accountability, integrity, and grassroots participation in the party’s affairs.
