Expect More Development — Gov. Aliyu Assures Sokoto Residents

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has assured the people of the state of more developmental projects, particularly across the 23 local government areas, under his administration’s stewardship.

The Governor gave the assurance on Thursday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders’ Engagement Meeting held in the state. He revealed that he had directed all local government chairmen, party leaders, and relevant stakeholders to submit proposals for viable and impactful projects in their respective areas in order to drive grassroots development.

Governor Aliyu reiterated his administration’s commitment to honesty, transparency, and accountability, urging stakeholders to ensure equitable distribution of projects across their domains.

“We are committed to delivering meaningful projects to every part of Sokoto State. No local government will be left behind,” he declared.

He also disclosed that more federal government appointments were on the way for the people of Sokoto, noting that such appointments would further benefit the state and strengthen its representation at the national level.

The Governor reaffirmed that his administration was already executing a wide range of developmental projects, assuring residents that even more initiatives were underway.

Also speaking at the event, Bashar Abubakar conveyed the message of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the APC leader in the state, who congratulated the newly elected local government chairmen and urged them to govern with the fear of Allah. He called for understanding, cooperation, and continuous prayers from stakeholders and citizens to support the success of the administration.

Earlier, the state APC chairman, Hon. Isah Sadiq Acida, commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his inclusive and effective leadership, describing the administration as one that prioritizes the interests of all segments of the state’s population.

  • Senator Salihu Bakwai Sabon Birni, representing APC elders,
  • Hon. Muhammadu Tukur Alkali, Commissioner for Agriculture,
  • Hon. Abba Shehu Tambuwal, speaking on behalf of the 23 local government chairmen,
  • Alhaji Muhammadu Sarkin Alaru, APC Chairman of Illela LGA, representing party chairmen across the state.

The meeting, held at Bola Ahmed Tinubu Hall, the residence of the APC leader in Gawon Nama, Sokoto, was well-attended by top government officials and party stalwarts.

  • Majority Leader, Hon. Bello Idris Chimmola

  • Former Speaker, Hon. Lawali Labbo Margai
  • Secretary to the State Government, Muhammadu Bello Sifawa
  • Chief of Staff, Aminu Haliru Dikko

Others included APC elders, members of the national and state assemblies, members of the State Executive Council, special advisers, all 23 local government chairmen, APC local government chairmen, and other dignitaries.
