Our Efforts to Promote Security Yielding Results in Kano – VGN Official

By Jabiru Hassan

An intelligence officer with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Muktar Abdullahi Ungogo, has said the group’s efforts in combating crime are producing positive results in Kano State. He noted that with adequate support from the federal, state, and local governments, peace and security would be further strengthened.

Ungogo stated this in an interview with our correspondent in Kano, stressing that the challenges of insecurity, phone snatching, street fights, and related offences require special attention from all security agencies, including voluntary groups like the VGN.

He called for the inclusion of VGN members in Kano’s security operations, describing it as a strategic move to curb crimes such as phone snatching, street brawls between rival communities, and other offences in both urban and rural areas.

“I am optimistic that VGN members are well-equipped to assist the Kano State Government in eradicating insecurity across the state,” Ungogo said.

He further assured that all forms of indiscipline and crime could be eliminated if Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf deploys competent VGN personnel to support the state’s fight against hoodlums.
