Kaduna Police Warn Against Violence Ahead of Bye-Elections

The Kaduna State Police Command has cautioned politicians and their supporters against disrupting Saturday’s bye-elections in Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kajuru councils.

Command spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, said credible intelligence revealed plans by some political actors to instigate violence. He warned that anyone involved in vote-buying, thuggery, intimidation, or unrest would be arrested and prosecuted, regardless of status.

Hassan noted that robust security measures had been put in place in collaboration with other security agencies, with deployments to polling units, collation centres, and identified flashpoints.

He assured residents of adequate protection and urged voters to come out and exercise their rights peacefully.
