Kano Police Command, Foundation Organise Attitudinal Change Lecture For Officers

The Kano State Police Command, in collaboration with the Foundation for Correction of Moral Decadence (FCMD), organized a lecture on attitudinal change for police personnel.

The lecture, according to the authorities, aligns with the directives of Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, emphasizing the importance of attitudinal change in improving police-community relations and fostering professionalism within the Force.

Dr. Joseph Danley, the National President of FCMD, while delivering the lecture on September 8, 2025, highlighted the significance of positive attitudes, professionalism, and courtesy in interactions with the public. He stressed that humanity, love, and unity are essential values for effective policing.

Dr. Danley acknowledged the selfless service that police officers provide to citizens and the nation, reminding attendees of the considerable responsibility they bear as “the backbone of the nation’s security.”

The event also featured the launch of the “Attitudinal Change Handbook for the Nigeria Police Force,” a resource aimed at guiding officers in achieving excellence and integrity in their service.

In his remarks, Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, commended IGP Egbetokun for this capacity development initiative.

He urged officers to study the handbook and apply its principles. CP Bakori advised the officers, stating, “Fear God in your service. Serve with integrity, professionalism, and compassion.”

“The Kano State Police Command remains committed to fulfilling the vision of the IGP and expresses gratitude to Dr. Joseph Danley for his impactful contributions,” CP Bakori assured.

Previously, the FCMD had conducted attitudinal change seminars in the Kogi, Kaduna and Niger commands, with plans to extend these efforts to all 36 states of the nation, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
