The North-Central All Progressives Congress Forum has expressed deep sadness over the death of one of its respected chieftains, Senator Solomon Aku Ewuga.
The Forum’s Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, announced this in a statement issued to reporters in Jos.
Ewuga, who was a former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, and Senator representing Nasarawa North in the 7th National Assembly, died on Tuesday at the age of 70 after a prolonged illness.
His career spanned decades of public service and was marked by resilience, commitment, and political versatility.
Zazzaga described him as a man of impeccable pedigree, strong intellect, uncommon humility, and exemplary character, adding that his death is a colossal loss to the Forum. He noted that Ewuga’s invaluable contributions to the group, the APC, and to nation-building will be deeply missed.
The Forum further described the late Ewuga as a remarkable leader, a gentleman, and a patriot whose legacy in the development of Nasarawa State and Nigeria will remain enduring.
“We mourn the passing of this great statesman and extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, friends, political associates, and the good people of Nasarawa State. May his soul rest in peace,” the statement added.
