NNPC Foundation’s Training for Vulnerable Farmers in Kano Earns Praise

By Jabiru Hassan

KANO, Nigeria – Farmers in Kano State have lauded the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Foundation for its three-day training program designed to support vulnerable farmers with modern agricultural skills. The training, which ended on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, was described as well-organized and impactful by participants.

The program, facilitated by NNPC Foundation officials and agricultural experts, aimed to equip farmers with improved techniques to enhance productivity and profitability. According to participants, the training came at a critical time when adopting new technologies is essential to boost food production across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

One of the beneficiaries, Malam Adamu Musa from Tudun Wada Local Government Area, said the program exposed farmers to innovative methods already practiced in other countries. “We have gained knowledge that will make our farming more profitable and competitive,” he noted.

Another participant, Malama Amina Usman from Kano city, commended the foundation for its commitment to rural farmers. She urged NNPC Foundation to sustain its support to improve food security and the livelihood of vulnerable Nigerians.

Speaking at the flag-off of the training, Mrs. Euginia C. Dominion (FCA), who represented the Managing Director of NNPC Foundation, said the initiative reflects the company’s dedication to human development. She congratulated participants and encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained to improve seasonal farming practices.

“I urge all participants to adopt the skills they have learned, as agriculture is rapidly advancing globally, and Nigerian farmers must not be left behind,” she said.

The training was part of NNPC Foundation’s broader effort to empower citizens through agricultural development and other social impact programs.
