The Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC) is set to host the October 2025 edition of the *Kaduna Monthly Climate Hangout*, aimed at raising awareness about environmental challenges, biodiversity protection, and climate journalism.
The event, scheduled for **Wednesday, October 8, 2025**, will be organized in collaboration with *African Climate Reporters (ACR)* and the *Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Governor on Climate Change*.
According to a statement signed by IMC Directors, **Mr. Samson Auta** and **Mallam Hayatu Ashafa**, the initiative seeks to educate the public on pressing environmental issues such as deforestation, climate change, and the growing threat of extinction facing many plant and animal species.
The hangout is expected to bring together scientists, environmental journalists, civil society organizations, NGOs, and research institutions for a one-hour roundtable discussion. Participants will share insights and propose practical strategies for protecting Kaduna State’s natural resources and promoting sustainable environmental practices.
The *Kaduna Monthly Climate Hangout* is a voluntary platform created by environmental advocates committed to building a greener and more sustainable Kaduna.
Other organizers include **Hon. Yusuf Yusuf Idris Amoke**, Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Governor on Climate Change, and **Mr. Ibrahima Yakubu**, a science and environment journalist and Head of Communication and Strategy at *African Climate Reporters*.
