North Central Development Commission Condoles with Senator Abba Moro Over Death of Son, Grandson

By Abel Zwanke, Lafia

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, FCNA, on Wednesday led a delegation on a condolence visit to the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, following the death of his son, Peter Abba Moro, and grandson, Abba Moro Jnr**.

The delegation, which visited the senator’s residence in Abuja, represented the Board and Management of the Commission.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Tsenyil extended the sympathies of the entire NCDC family to Senator Moro and his household, describing the deaths as a tragic and painful loss.

“We are here to commiserate with you and your family on behalf of the Board and Management of the North Central Development Commission,” Dr. Tsenyil said. “The entire NCDC community mourns with you over this painful loss. You have been a strong voice and instrumental in the establishment and legislative framework of our Commission. We pray that God Almighty comforts you, grants you the fortitude to bear this loss, and gives eternal rest to the departed.”

Dr. Tsenyil also acknowledged Senator Moro’s pivotal role in the growth and development of the North Central region, highlighting his invaluable contribution to the establishment of the Commission.

“Your support for the creation of the NCDC remains a cornerstone of our mission to promote development across the North Central zone,” he added.

In his response, Senator Abba Moro expressed gratitude to Dr. Tsenyil and the NCDC team for their solidarity and compassion during the period of mourning.

“We are deeply saddened by this loss, but we take solace in the will of God who gives and takes life,” Senator Moro said. “Your visit today gives us strength and comfort, and we sincerely appreciate your prayers and kind words.”

The NCDC delegation included the Executive Director of Corporate Services, Hon. James Uloko; Board Member representing the Federal Capital Territory, Hon. Solomon Adodo; and Alhaji Zakari Haliru Jikantoro, representing Niger State on the Commission’s Board.

The North Central Development Commission, established by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, is tasked with driving socio-economic development and post-crisis recovery initiatives across the North Central geopolitical zone. The condolence visit, according to observers, underscores the Commission’s commitment to solidarity and human connection beyond its core developmental mandate.
