Over 10,000 Residents to Benefit from Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi’s Free Medical Outreach in Bichi Constituency

By Jabiru Hassan

More than 10,000 residents across the 11 wards of Bichi Federal Constituency in Kano State are set to benefit from a free medical outreach initiated by Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, the member representing the constituency at the House of Representatives.

The outreach programme, themed “Gwaji Kyauta, Magani Kyauta” (Free Test, Free Treatment), was announced in a statement signed by Professor Yusuf Mohammed Sabo, Chairman of the Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi Healthcare Management Committee.

According to Professor Sabo, the initiative aims to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care to an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 beneficiaries, including the elderly, women, children, and vulnerable groups across the constituency.

He explained that the medical outreach would feature a range of services such as diagnostic tests, surgical procedures, eye care, maternal health services, and the distribution of essential drugs, all offered at no cost to participants.

“This programme reflects Honorable Bichi’s genuine concern for the health and wellbeing of his people,” Professor Sabo said. “He has always reaffirmed his commitment to making quality healthcare accessible and affordable to every resident of Bichi, regardless of status or background.”

Professor Sabo further commended the lawmaker for consistently prioritizing human development initiatives, adding that the outreach would not only treat illnesses but also create health awareness and encourage preventive care practices among the people.

He noted that the committee had mobilized qualified medical professionals and ensured that all logistics were in place for smooth implementation across the wards.

“We are working with a team of experienced doctors, nurses, and pharmacists to ensure every beneficiary receives proper medical attention,” he said. “This effort will go a long way in reducing the burden of preventable diseases in Bichi Constituency.”

Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi, who has sponsored several empowerment and community development projects in the constituency, was lauded for his continued dedication to improving education, healthcare, and youth development.

The outreach programme, which is expected to commence in the coming days, will be carried out in phases to ensure equal access and effective coverage across all participating communities.

Residents have expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that would ease the financial burden of healthcare amid current economic challenges.
