Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been crowned the CAF Women’s National Team of the Year for the third consecutive time, winning the prestigious award in 2023, 2024, and now 2025.
This latest triumph reinforces their long-standing dominance in African women’s football and reaffirms their status as the continent’s most consistent and formidable side.
The Falcons first claimed the award in 2010, and later in 2014, 2016, and 2018, before their current streak of victories in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Their 2025 win follows a landmark year marked by their historic 10th WAFCON title. Nigeria defeated host nation Morocco 3–2 in a thrilling final, showcasing their depth, resilience, and championship mentality.
For Nigeria, this third straight recognition goes beyond on-field success — it reflects the team’s evolution, stability, and unwavering competitiveness as women’s football across Africa continues to grow stronger.
In the men’s category, Morocco’s U-20 team, fresh from winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup, was voted National Team of the Year.
