The Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Capt. Iniobong Ekong (Rtd.) has said that the 2025 Tropicana Trade Fair would serve as a strategic platform for attracting fresh investments, stimulating commerce, and accelerating economic expansion across the state.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 4th edition of the Fair in Uyo yesterday, Ekong said the fair would showcase the vibrant culture, rich resources, and boundless opportunities that define Akwa Ibom’s economic landscape.
The commissioner explained that the gathering of local and international exhibitors, sponsors, and visitors underscores the rising confidence of investors in the state government policy drive in making the a favourable business climate.
“Over the next five days, we will be showcasing the best of Akwa Ibom, from agriculture to industry, tourism to innovation. We will be building connections and forging new paths to economic growth and development.” Ekong said.
He urged participants to maximize the fair’s opportunities by networking, collaborating, and exploring new markets, noting that such engagements are essential to strengthening the state’s investment ecosystem and expanding its economic frontiers.
The programme he said is in alignment with the administration’s commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, supporting SMEs, and positioning Akwa Ibom as a preferred destination for trade and investment.
The 2025 Tropicana Trade Fair, hosted at the Tropicana Mall, would feature 111 vendors and other notable brands and powered by major sponsors including Ibom Air, Tropicana Mall, and Market Square.
The fair is expected to attract thousands of participants and investors over its five-day duration, reaffirming Akwa Ibom’s growing profile as one of Nigeria’s most promising commercial and industrial hubs.
