BMNA 2025: Chief Amedi Uduru Nominated for ‘Pillar of the Niger Delta Youths’ Award

The Bayelsa Media Network Awards (BMNA) has nominated oil executive and philanthropist, Chief Joseph Bisi Amedi Uduru, for its 2025 “Pillar of the Niger Delta Youths” award, scheduled to hold on December 26, 2025, at the NUJ Secretariat, Azikoro Road, Ekeki, Yenagoa.According to the organisers, Chief Uduru was selected for the BMNA 2025 honour in recognition of his extensive contributions to youth empowerment across the Niger Delta through the Joseph Amedi Foundation. The award committee noted that his initiatives have positively impacted vulnerable groups, low-income families, and young people across several communities.BMNA Project Manager, Mr. Blessing Matthew Ozegbe, said the nomination reflects Chief Uduru’s long-standing commitment to community development and his foundation’s reputation for transparency, unity-building, and humanitarian outreach.He explained that the Joseph Amedi Foundation has earned significant trust for its continuous engagement in educational support, skills development, and welfare interventions targeted at disadvantaged youths. “Chief Amedi Uduru has demonstrated exceptional dedication to human capital development, and his work continues to inspire hope among Niger Delta youths,” Ozegbe said.

Beyond his philanthropic impact, Chief Uduru has also distinguished himself in the business sector. He currently serves as Group CEO of Exxocon Oil and Gas Holdings, CEO/Managing Director of Real Estate Harbour Ltd (Nigeria and Ghana), Managing Director of Axelson Oilfield Engineering Ghana Limited, and Managing Director of Axelson Oilfield Engineering Inc., Gabon.Ozegbe noted that Chief Uduru’s diverse leadership experience and global exposure have contributed to his ability to drive inclusive development initiatives. “He is a detribalized leader whose intellectual depth and commitment to societal progress set a strong example for others,” he added.The project manager further urged prominent indigenes of Engenni Kingdom and the wider Niger Delta region to emulate Chief Uduru by investing deliberately in youth empowerment and community growth. He stressed that such efforts are crucial for sustaining peace, progress, and economic advancement in the region.The BMNA Awards, known for their transparent and merit-based selection process, recognise individuals and organisations that demonstrate outstanding service, leadership, and social impact. The 2025 edition aims to highlight transformative contributions that align with the region’s developmental aspirations.
