2027: Delta Central APC Stakeholders Reaffirm Loyalty to Tinubu, Oborevwori

By Anne Azuka

Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District on Sunday held a high-level strategy meeting at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, where they pledged unwavering loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The gathering brought together senior government officials, party executives, community leaders, and grassroots mobilisers. Discussions centred on strengthening internal cohesion, improving organisational coordination, and preparing the party for what stakeholders described as a decisive political year.

While moving the motion for the loyalty pledge—seconded by Chief Andrew Oru—the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, praised President Tinubu for progress in security and economic stability.
“Nigeria is beginning to record improved security across various regions,” Keyamo said, attributing the gains to the President’s renewed commitment to tackling insecurity.

He also commended Governor Oborevwori for what he described as massive infrastructural development across Delta State, noting that the Governor’s achievements were “unequalled in recent years.”

Keyamo urged party members to remain disciplined and united as the APC prepares for upcoming congresses, warning aspirants that no one would secure the party’s ticket “from Abuja” without the support of grassroots leaders. He emphasised that loyalty to party structures remained essential for electoral victory.

State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, reflected on Delta’s political realignment, noting that the shift from PDP to APC was strategic and long overdue. He stressed the need for genuine engagement across communities and encouraged members to remain focused and resilient. He expressed confidence that the party would secure a landslide victory in 2027.

Chairman of the Delta Central APC, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, cautioned against factionalism and internal disunity, describing Delta Central as the “political engine room” of the APC in the state.
“Delta State APC has only one leader, and that leader is His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. This is not up for debate,” he said.
He announced new reforms, including monthly rotating senatorial meetings and the establishment of a Delta Central APC Caucus Committee to oversee strategic planning, mobilisation, conflict resolution, and performance monitoring.

Other party leaders—including Senator Ede Dafinone, House of Representatives Member Hon. Ejiro Waive, NEXIM Bank Executive Director Stella Okotete, Chief Solomon Igrakpata, and Chief Andrew Oru—also spoke on the importance of unity and discipline within the APC.

Local Government APC Chairmen at the meeting jointly pledged to deliver overwhelming votes for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

At the close of deliberations, the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to repositioning Delta Central APC as a united, disciplined, and formidable force ahead of the 2027 polls.
