Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gbede, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, have expressed strong support for Hon. Salman Idris, endorsing him for a second term in the House of Representatives representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
The endorsement followed a stakeholders’ meeting held in Ayetoro Gbede, where party leaders lauded Hon. Idris’ performance, describing it as exemplary and deserving of continued service.
Former caretaker chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Dare Osawu, commended Hon. Idris for setting a new standard of representation and pledged that the people of Gbede would unite behind him. Other notable supporters, including Hon. Funsho Haruna, Hon. Dayo Akanmode, and Hon. Boye Bello, highlighted Idris’ commitment to constituency development and his tangible achievements, calling for his re-election in 2027.
Hon. Idris has gained recognition for initiatives empowering his constituents, including the provision of grinding machines, digital cameras, and training in fish and poultry farming. His efforts to improve livelihoods have earned widespread approval and reinforced his reputation as a dedicated public servant. During the meeting, Hon. Boye Bello, Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor, formally proposed the endorsement of Hon. Idris, which was unanimously approved by attending leaders.
Prominent figures from the five wards of Gbede who participated in the endorsement include Hon. Job Ologe, Hon. E.O. Olukade, Chief Owonibi Kehinde, Chief Femi Ajayi, Hon. Ogunnibi Sunday Moses, Mr. Ebitanmi Olatunde, Chief Omofe Benson, Hon. Boye Bello, Hon. Dare Osawu, and Hon. Toluyemi Sunday
The APC leadership in Gbede reiterated their commitment to mobilizing community support for Hon. Idris, emphasizing the need for continuity in leadership to sustain development projects and empowerment initiatives within the federal constituency.
