Wike Enjoins FCT Residents to Embrace Joy of the Season as Christians Celebrate Christmas

The FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike has enjoined Christian faithfuls to embrace the joy of the season as he wished them a Merry Christmas celebration.

This was contained in a Christmas message by the minister to residents as they celebrate the season.

The minister said, “ Christmas, is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. All over the world, it is a season of joy, giving, sharing, and good neighborliness.”

“I felicitate with Christians in the FCT as they celebrate Christmas and urge them to see the period as one of sober reflection, ensuring that they share good tidings and goodwill towards fellow residents in the territory, thereby creating the peace, harmony, and prosperity desirable in the nation’s capital.”

“I enjoin our Christian residents to use the occasion of Christmas to reflect and to rededicate themselves to the virtues of love, unity, and peace, which are the recurrent themes of the message of Jesus Christ.”

“The occasion also offers us a unique opportunity to pray for our leaders, and indeed, our country Nigeria, that we may enjoy peace and progress in the coming years.”

Wike likewise used the season to also appreciate the good people of the FCT for their cooperation and support for the Administration all through the year 2025.

He further appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s massive support towards the development of the Federal Capital Territory, he recounts monumental developments have taken place in the past 12 months in every sector.

“Schools have been renovated, hospitals staffed and equipped, roads and bridges constructed in every area council, the judiciary supported, and security enhanced. Indeed, it has been a year of remarkable achievements, and we thank residents for their cooperation.”

“I equally appreciate our various partners, stakeholders, the management and staff of the FCT Administration, and, of course, all friends and residents of the Federal Capital Territory.”

Let me use this opportunity to also reassure residents that the FCT Administration will remain steadfast in its task of providing infrastructure and services that will have the greatest positive impacts on the lives of residents in the FCT,” he said.

While assuring safety during the season, the minister urged residents to be mindful of their security responsibilities as they go about their lawful duties .

He also urged residents to report suspicious activities within their environment to the security agencies while assuring them that the FCT Administration is doing its best to ensure that residents celebrate the season in a safe, and joyful atmosphere with the security of lives and property all through the festive period and beyond.

“Once again, on behalf of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, I wish FCT residents a Merry Christmas. Happy celebrations”, he said.
