ALI NDUME DONATES ASSORTED FOOD ITEMS TO TROOPS IN BORNO

Chairman Senate Committee on Army,senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, has distributed assorted foodgifts to troops of Operation Lafiya Dole,fighting insurgency ,the less privileged and internally displaced persons,IDPs in his constituency to alleviate their suffering during Christmas celebrations.

Senator NDUME represented by Adamu Idrissa Timta,disclosed that the total items distributed included, 30 cows., 200 bags of rice and 200 jerry cans of cooking oil,to put some smiles on the faces of troops,less privileged and IDPs.

Handing over the food items to troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole, at the Maimalari contonment, Maiduguri, Saturday, Senator Ndume said ” I am here to present to you 10 cows, 50 bags of rice and 20 Jerry cans of coking oil for you to celebrate this years Christmas happily at the war front for your sacrifices”.

While wishing them happy Christmas and New year in advance,Senator Ndume,representing Borno south at the National assembly said ” this is just a token for the troops fighting Boko Haram in the front line for their sacrifices. dedication and commitment to their fatherland and for peace to reign in the Northeast “.

According to Adamu Idrissa Timta”The Senator could have loved to be here personally but because he went to witness the burial of one of his colleague who die recently. His heart is always with you. The Senator is also a son of a soldier and a barrack boy, he doesn’t joke with the welfare of soldiers, because he grew up in the barrack”, he added.

He assured you that he will always be with them and will continue to pray for success and that their efforts to end Boko Haram insurgency will not go in vain.

Responding, theater Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Olusegun Adeniyi,said ” on behalf of the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, I want to thank Senator Ndume for the gesture.

This gesture,according to him,will go a long way in putting smiles on the faces of not only our troops but the barrack community in general”.

“Senator Ndume is one of the Pilar of this operation, he stood for the operation on the floor of the Senate, through media and with his energy and resources, as indicated by this gesture.
We really thank him and pray that God will continue to guide and protect him”, General Adeniyi said.

The theater Commander assured that “we will not allow Boko Haram occupy an inch, the Boko Haram end is in sight, we will do everything to see that peace returns to the Northeast”.

The team were also at the CAN IDP centre, Bakasi, Gubio Camps among other Southern Borno camps.
