Federal Fire Service Passes Out Over 700 Cadets in Largest Officer Training Since 2019

The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has passed out more than 700 newly trained officers following the completion of its Regular Course 06, the largest officer training programme conducted by the Service in recent years. The Passing Out Parade was held at the NDLEA Training School in Jos, Plateau State, marking the end of a nine-week residential programme for officers recruited in the 2022 and 2024 intakes from across Nigeria, according to a statement by the FFS National Public Relations Officer, DCF Paul Abraham.

The cadets received intensive training in fire suppression, emergency response operations, leadership, discipline, teamwork, and decision-making under pressure. The programme is the first comprehensive training for newly recruited fire officers since 2019.

Speaking at the event, the Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, said the graduation reflected ongoing reforms focused on capacity building, operational readiness, and improved emergency response nationwide. He added that the officers are prepared for immediate deployment to support fire prevention and disaster risk reduction efforts.

The Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs. Josephine Pyo, who represented Governor Caleb Mutfwang, congratulated the cadets and urged them to uphold the core values of the Service. She also reaffirmed the state government’s support for federal security agencies.

Outstanding cadets were recognised for excellence in discipline, drills, and academics during the ceremony, which was attended by senior security officials, government representatives, and traditional rulers.
