Veteran Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi has sparked debate on social media after sharing her views on financial roles in relationships.
Speaking during an appearance on the The Honest Bunch Podcast, the actress said many men feel a sense of inadequacy when they are financially dependent on a woman.
According to Anunobi, it is natural for many men to want to provide for their families and take responsibility within a relationship.
“There’s no man that feels complete when a woman is feeding him. Forget it, don’t let anybody deceive you. A man wants to be able to give instructions to his wife. It’s a male thing,” she said.
The actress explained that having financial independence often gives men confidence and a sense of fulfilment, while relying solely on a partner’s income may make some men feel uncomfortable.
Speaking from a woman’s perspective, Anunobi also said many women derive satisfaction from being cared for by their partners.
“I’m a woman, I want to be taken care of. It’s the joy of a woman. Every woman, even if she is a billionaire,” she added.
Her remarks have since generated mixed reactions online, with some supporting her stance while others argue that modern relationships increasingly emphasise shared financial responsibilities.
