Jos South Youth Group Urges Entrepreneur to Consider Assembly Bid in 2027

A youth group in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State has called on entrepreneur Rwas Gyang Samuel Dungs, popularly known as Samdungs, to contest for a seat in the Plateau State House of Assembly in the 2027 elections. The appeal was made by a group identified as Jos South Youths for Progressive Change, led by Samuel Davou Gyang.

The group said its position reflects a desire for increased youth representation and leadership in the constituency. In a statement, the youths described Dungs as a community-focused entrepreneur who has supported young people through business initiatives, mentorship, and job creation.

“His contributions to youth development and enterprise make him a potential candidate for leadership,” the group said. They added that young people play a significant role in shaping the future of Jos South and should be reflected in political representation. The group also highlighted the area’s diversity and called for leadership that promotes inclusion and community development.

The statement expressed confidence that candidates with grassroots engagement and an understanding of local economic challenges could help advance policies supporting small businesses and youth empowerment. The group said its call was based on its assessment of leadership needs in the area ahead of the 2027 elections. There was no immediate response from Dungs regarding the call to contest.
