Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has extended Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslims in the state and across Nigeria, calling for peace, unity, and tolerance. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor congratulated Muslim faithful on the completion of Ramadan, commending their devotion and commitment to spiritual values.
Oborevwori described the fasting period as a time for reflection, self-discipline, and compassion, urging adherents to sustain these virtues beyond the celebration for the benefit of society. He emphasised the need for peaceful coexistence among people of different religious and ethnic backgrounds, noting that mutual understanding is essential for national stability and development.
The governor also encouraged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for the country’s peace and progress, particularly in addressing ongoing socio-economic challenges. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, infrastructure development, and the welfare of residents, in line with his policy agenda. Oborevwori further urged residents to celebrate responsibly and continue supporting efforts aimed at building a secure and prosperous Delta State.
